I AM BALANCED - Bath Salts
We live in a world that values being busy, overworked and constantly striving to do more, be more, have more. We also live in a world where adrenal fatigue is rampant, depression, anxiety and suicide numbers are climbing daily and so many souls are finding themselves struggling to see the meaning in their day to day lives. This blend was crafted to help support the people that are caught up in the “I have to’s” and the “if I am not busy and stressed I should feel guilty or lazy”. It has been crucial for both myself and my husband as we balance multiple jobs, multiple children and all other facets of life.
It promotes a sense of calm that helps the user relax and accept themselves regardless of their external achievements. It encourages one to slow down and enjoy the small things in life and supports the nervous system so that those who love their high stress jobs don’t suffer from pursuing them.
Epsom salts, which aren't actually a salt at all, have been found to assist the body with detoxing, relaxation, tension and pain in the physical body and softer, happier skin.
Magnesium chloride flakes are one of the key ingredients in all our bath salts.
The body needs magnesium. It is a cofactor in more than 300 enzyme systems that regulate diverse biochemical reactions in the body. This includes, but isn't limited to protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, and blood pressure regulation. Magnesium is required for energy production, oxidative phosphorylation, and glycolysis. It contributes to the structural development of bone and is required for the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and the antioxidant glutathione. It plays a role nerve impulse conduction, muscle contraction, and normal heart rhythm and SO. MUCH. MORE.
We do get magnesium from a healthy diet, however not everyone has the same ability to assimilate magnesium in the body. Research has shown that magnesium is far more readily absorbed for most people when applied topically to the body and has found to be the ultimate way to replenish cellular magnesium levels since every cell in the body is covered in it. This can be achieved with and oil like our Magick Magnesium, or with a magnesium based salt bath. These approaches allow the magnesium to pass directly into the tissues via the skin, where it can quickly be transported to cells throughout the body.
Wonderful magnesium is found again in the Dead Sea Salts, offering all that was mentioned above as well as specifically great for detoxifying and cleansing the epidermis and promoting the cell metabolism, which in turn helps soothe and heal damaged or inflamed skin.
promotes skin growth and regeneration, moisture retention through the production of sebum, and stimulates the production of antioxidants. This is supported further by the levels of sodium which also helps cleanse and exfoliate the skin, neutralise free radicals which can be responsible for the degeneration of skin cells, and can assist with relieving sore muscles.
These days if you find yourself on a natural health platform, it wont be long before you stumble across a post, blog or article about the MANY used for bicarb soda, which is one and the same as sodium bicarbonate. We include it in some of our bath salts because it soothes, relaxes, and softens skin while also deodorising, particularly beneficial if you are detoxing and cleansing your body.
Himalayan Pink Salt added to a bath creates a refreshing experience for the mind, body and soul. Himalayan Pink Salt contains 84 trace elements and minerals that naturally occur in the earth and it is said the the mineral ratio in Himalayan Pink Salt is said to closely mirror that which is found in a healthy human body. As our body and organs then resonate with the natural frequency of the minerals in the salt, you can find your body feeling recharged and energised. This can in turn boost your metabolism and trigger the body into its innate self-healing cycle.
The salt also promotes better skin hydration, leaving it softer and smoother. The salt gets stored in the upper layer of the skin, which can plump it up and create a natural protective film preventing it from dryness. Bathing with Himalayan Salt can help skin to heal and therefore bring relief to irritated and painful skin due to conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis, helping to promote better skin hydration. It has also been found to help relax and provide relief to aching and cramped muscles.
Organic bentonite clay, also known as Montmorillonite, is known to also have an abundance of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, silica, sodium, copper, iron and potassium. There is research that suggests several traditional cultures have used Bentonite Clay for centuries. The bentonite clay that we use in our salts, soaks and masks is food grade compliant and formed from volcanic ash that has been trapped for eons in sea beds in Australia, and is finely milled to 45 microns. The clay is harvested, dried, milled and packaged with absolutely no chemicals used.
How does the Bentonite Clay actually work? and why is it beneficial to include it in this cleansing bath salt blend? It is negatively charged attracting and binding toxins. The clay swells like a highly porous sponge when mixed with water and toxins are drawn into the sponge through electrical attraction, and once they are there they become bound. The negative charge of the bentonite clay also means that it stabiliser free radicals stopping them from causing molecular and cellular damage.
Natural Pure Borax. Many people report feeling more supple, refreshed and generally more invigorated after soaking in one of the many hot mineral springs located around the world. Those springs contain an array of minerals, and one of those minerals is Boron and thus similar sensations can be experienced if Borax is added to a bath soak. The borax we use has been harvested from deep Mediterranean deposits located in Turkey and is free from fragrances and flow agents. It has been thoroughly researched and analysed in an Australian lab to ensure it is pure and it is not tested on animals.
