A large part of kinesiology is based around Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM uses the energetic pathways, called meridians, that are found through the body and correlate to different energies, organs, glands and processes within the body as well as our emotional and spiritual beings. Along these meridians are acupoints and these acupoints link to specific functions or energetic manifestations. Stimulating these points essentially helps to dissipate any kind of imbalance or blockage in the meridian and therefore sends a signal to the body that it should initiate its own innate healing abilities and regulatory mechanisms so that we can express ourselves as originally intended before any stress or dis-ease interfered. In session these points may be stimulated by massage, Tei Shen, light, sound, aromatherapy.
